Engineering can be fun, but it is sometimes even funnier to know why students choose engineering as their career path.

Here are the ten reasons that made us giggle but that actually reflect harsh realities:

1. To settle in the United States, Canada, Australia, or Europe.
   
   
2. In my opinion, engineering pays well when compared to other professions.
   
   
3. Dad’s friend’s son is doing it. (Sharma ji ka beta kiya hai)
   
   
4. To get a good marriage proposal in the future.
   
   
5. Because one of my friends or girlfriend is doing it.
   
   
6. My relatives and family advised me to opt for engineering.
   
   
7. I did not pass the medical entrance test.
   
   
8. My 12th grades were excellent enough to get me a seat in engineering.
   
   
9. Since it was also done by my elder brother or sister.
   
   
10. To start my own business or startup and be an entrepreneur.
